  1. Although I miss reading your inspirational words and humour, Ezra, there is a time for everything and perhaps for now, it is time for quiet and rest. Much love to you and Hill from our foggy northwest coast. Wishing you a sunny, crisp, colourful day!

  2. While we look forward to reading your heartfelt missives Ezra, I think we all would prefer to think that you are doing just as you wish, whether it’s photographing, biking, “be” ing pain free, celebrating, resting, hugging, thriving, living. And, no matter how you long you take, whatever you do, our love surrounds you and those close to you. Peace, love, bliss, XO

  3. I had a bad feeling on Friday.
    One of those out-of-nowhere brain/heart pangs that kindof stop you in your tracks.

    We’re here, Ez.
    All of us.
    Big Love

  4. Just want to concur with aRobin2 – who expressed my sentiments better than I would have.

    I hope you are able to enjoy these spectacular fall days.

  5. Hoping that you are resting and spending time with your loved ones. You have inspired me to appreciate each day, and always remember what is important.
    Thank you

  6. Appreciate knowing that you are ok but would rather have radio silence and know that you are having a wonderful time with your wife, family and close friends.
    Take all the time you want. Write only when you want to, not because you feel obligated to do so!

  8. I also echo what aRobin2 said so well. As much as I enjoy reading your posts and seeing your photos, I much prefer that you are just enjoying your life with all those people who surround you with love and laughter. 9. You don’t know me but I’ve been reading your blog. Wishing you peace. You have a beautiful spirit which is so evident in everything you do.

  10. I’m just glad to hear that you’re out there somewhere, still. Some of us know you, I barely met you, but you’ve profoundly affected all of us. This couldn’t be false with all of us here, and we’ll care about you anyway, whether or not we hear from you. Thanks for being such an inspiration, but please, don’t feel obligated to do so. I’m pretty sure that’s what’s inspiring us in the first place.

  11. I met you briefly at the show, wanted to hug you and tell you I’ve been religiously following your posts for a couple years. Came for the bikes, stayed for the inspiration and to witness the love you inspire in so, so many. As my lovely lady says, ‘un peto, un abracat…”

  12. Hoping you had a terrific weekend for some recuperation…. To take from your previous post… Hopefully by bike. Hopefully with your beautiful wife. Fuck cancer.

  13. Selfishly missing your words. . .but hoping that you are resting and loving and enjoying. We’re patient (or at least we will learn to be)…We’ll wait. . .

  19. Sending wonderful fall thoughts and imagining you in the park with Putney and Hill. For me you’ll always be the flickr guy with the exuberant jumping human and dog photos. Keep your buoyant spirit up, Ezra. <3 <3 <3

  20. This silence makes me sad. I hope you come bounding back into the virtual ‘room,’ laughing about some ridiculous stunt you just pulled, with photos and stories to share, but I know that at some point, that won’t happen. Hard to accept, for anyone who has been inspired by you and the way you’ve lived your life. Wishing you peace from Vermont.

  21. dear ezra.
    i have been reading *all* of your blogs for years.
    we are big fans of you here in burlington, vermont and admire with love, appreciation & awe your beautifully built bikes, photography & way with words.
    i, and my family, are so sad to hear about your illness & wish for you less pain in your transitions & travels at this time. we are thinking of you & your family & sweet dog – those pics of you in bed were great.

    we have agreed to memorize this poem for you. for some reason, this has stuck in my memory (as a chickedee born in 1969) as one of those poems ‘everyone should know’. i just looked it up the other day & really, it’s not a bad poem. actually, i think it’s lovely & so true.
    humble love & best wishes to you.

    in your honour:

    Trees

    I think that I shall never see
    A poem lovely as a tree.

    A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
    Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;

    A tree that looks at God all day,
    And lifts her leafy arms to pray;

    A tree that may in summer wear
    A nest of robins in her hair;

    Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
    Who intimately lives with rain.

    Poems are made by fools like me,
    But only God can make a tree.
